At Harbrook Engineering, we have been providing structural steel fabrication services from our workshop in Nantwich, Cheshire for over 40 years. During that time we have built a reputation for delivering high quality structural steelwork to both commercial and private clients across a wide range of sectors.
What is BS EN 1090?
BS EN 1090 is the recognised British and European standard for the manufacture of structural steelwork. Since 2014, it has been compulsory in the UK for structural steel components used in construction, setting requirements for quality control, traceability and fabrication standards.
Harbrook Engineering holds BS EN 1090 EXC2 certification, which covers most commercial, industrial and residential building structures. This confirms that our structural steelwork is manufactured to recognised UK and European standards for quality, safety and compliance.

A Complete Fabrication Service
We operate a full in-house fabrication facility, giving us complete control over quality and lead times from start to finish. Our in-house CAD design team can work from your drawings, hand sketches, or brief to develop fully detailed fabrication drawings before production begins. For clients who come to us at an early stage, we are happy to be involved in the design process from the outset.
For cutting, we operate both CNC plasma cutting and laser cutting, allowing us to work accurately and efficiently across a wide range of material thicknesses and profiles. All welding is carried out by our coded welders, giving you confidence that every joint meets the standards required for structural applications and BS EN 1090 compliance. We also offer CNC press brake bending and folding for components that require precise formed sections, and can provide a range of steel finishes including primer, paint, galvanising, and powder coating to suit your project requirements.
